JUST Capital

JUST Capital is an independent nonprofit that tracks, analyzes, and engages with large corporations and their investors on how they perform on the public’s priorities. Its research, rankings, indexes, and data-driven tools aim to empower all market participants to help build a more just economy.

The 2020 rankings, based on corporate performance and transparency on the topics that matter most to the American public, were published on November 12, 2019. The 2020 rankings cover 830 companies from various industries, 36 of which are apparel / textile brands or retailers. JUST Capital conducts their own analysis of data primarily from company websites and sustainability reports. It also uses financial filings and, in some cases, third-party providers to evaluate company performance against the American public’s definition of just corporate performance. Companies have six weeks to review and provide further or corrected information via an online portal or by contacting JUST Capital directly before scores are published.
