Better Buying
Better BuyingTM is a global initiative that carries out independent research to promote improved purchasing practices, stronger supply chain partnerships, and mutually beneficial sustainability outcomes. The initiative provides retailers, brands, and suppliers with a cloud-based platform to obtain data-driven insights into purchasing-related activities. Better BuyingTM began as a university-based non-profit funded by C&A Foundation and Humanity United and with technical support from Fair Factories Clearinghouse.
Better BuyingTM allows suppliers to anonymously rate the purchasing practices of the companies that buy their products. Better BuyingTM subscribers receive detailed analysis and recommendations based on their suppliers’ ratings. Better BuyingTM uses primary objective business data about purchasing practices submitted by suppliers and supplier-submitted documents to verify that there is a business relationship with the brand/retailer they are rating. Better BuyingTM analyzes the plausibility of the data to verify the accuracy of the data submitted. It provides company reports only where there are at least a minimum of 5 supplier ratings of a brand/retailer that are aggregated together.
